Mara was born in 1976 in the capital of Argentina, the province of Buenos Aires. At a very young age she showed aptitude and interest for the arts in general.
Through her young adult years, she always dreamed to travel and so she did. She went around every province she wanted to see in Argentina, she traveled to Spain and she traveled around America. She visited places like Hollywood, Beverly Hills and lived with an amazing family who welcomed her through her journey in Lakewood. She lived in Los Angeles for some years and then she made her way to Victoria, BC Canada, where she made this beautiful island her home.
Mara is a cancer survivor. But to say that she is a cancer survivor is an understatement. She has had to overcome many obstacles and as she struggled to overcome those obstacles, she found art to be the only medium to be able to express what she was feeling. Today Mara is an independent, creative and unique artist, that looks beyond the confines of four walls for her inspiration. You can see this in some of her works such as “Wave” or “Mar de Ajo” where she utilizes the sea as the tool to describe a feeling.
She goes from sketching, doodling when she can't sleep, drawing with pretty much anything, painting with watercolors, acrylics, oils, she has done some photography as well as sculpture, she writes short stories and poems. She dabs in cubism, pop art, (marvel lover), surrealism, and she is always open to try new and different art forms.
Work / Education
Artist, illustrator, Animal lover, poet and cancer survivor...I believe in art to be a passion of mine that started many years ago but has developed recently
I paint every day and I enjoy this so much that makes my life worth living!
I have a major interest for conceptual art, I like art with meaning. I believe in the creative process as much as in the expression it transmits, and I am fascinated by the many interpretations which at the same time fills me from inspiration for my next art piece.
