About me
"Secret Ambition, Symbolism of Dreams & Personal Iconography"
Rull MacKenzie (Hairol Masri Nokhil) was born in Klang Selangor, in 1979. Since early childhood he had a deep interest in art, starting to expose in Art Class and participating with designing Mural in Secondary School and completed “Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia” in the year 1996. He loves travelling, arts and design inspired by his family and multicultural friends.
Rull has no art training and is proud to be 100% self-taught. In the past 11 years he has been travelling all over the World while working as a Flight Attendant with Malaysia Airlines. His paintings are a direct reflection on his very particular vision of the world and its beauty and you may be overwhelmed by his amazing flow of emotional colors. He decided to become a full time artist after his dismissal from Malaysian Airlines in 2015 and he regards the traumatic termination (because of restructuring after 2 accidents) as a blessing in disguise.
Freedom is a precious thing. His love of colour is evident in all his pieces, as is his ability to create and evoke shapes and forms into spectacular finished pieces.
Every creative process requires lots of preparation and research, none of it will be known to the final observer, but nonetheless it takes the main effort for the creation of each masterpiece. Creating something from nothing requires a great deal of planning, patience and thought and agonizes over the smallest of details before it is finally committed to canvas.
