About me
Born México City (1979)He studied the Bachelor and the Master of Visual Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
His work focuses on the themes of landscape, territory and memory using various media such as large-scale painting, installation, video, art-action and public art. His work has been presented in several cities of Mexico, Europe and South America, highlighting "Biennial XVII painting Rufino Tamayo" in Tamayo Museum contemporary art during 2017, "Memory in Dust" in the LPEP gallery in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2015, "Ibero-American art exhibition" at the Spain Cultural Center of Mexico in 2010, "Nómadas" at the Diego Rivera Mural Museum, "Disenhos Animados" in Lisbon Portugal in 2012 and "Horizonte contemporáneo" at the Museum of Mexico City in 2004 .
He has received multiple recognitions, among which are scholarships for production in painting and public art granted by various institutions such as FONCA, FOESCA, CONACULTA, SECULTA Oaxaca, Fundación Veracruzana, Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), production residences in Oaxaca, Veracruz and Argentina, as well as honorable mentions like the one of the young art contest in 2006.
His work has been part of collective exhibitions such as, Acme Hall # 4, Luis Nishizawa Painting Biennial, Alfredo Salce Painting and Engraving Biennial, Emerging Art Biennial, among others.
He currently lives and works in Mexico City.
Work / Education
He studied the Masters and the Visual Arts Degree in the Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM, during the graduate he made the student mobility to the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the tutelage of Sebastian Russo and Ana Longoni, who invites him to talk about his artistic work to the Center for Artistic Research of that city directed by Roberto Jacoby.
He has done complementary studies at the Arts Center of San Agustín Etla, Oaxaca where he was selected to make the Visual Arts Production Workshop under the coordination of Luis Felipe Ortega, Paola Santoscoy, Laureana Toledo among others. In his academic career he has taught art classes as a professor in several public and private universities such as the Autonomous University of Mexico City, where he currently works. During the year 2010 he was Tutor of the scholars of visual arts of the State Fund for Culture and Arts of Oaxaca. In 2017 he was a jury of Arte Urbano for the selection of projects supported by the Secretary of Culture of the State of Mexico
