Description
About me
I was born in 1982 in San José, Costa Rica, a small Central American country.
I fell in love with visual arts since a very young age and later on I decided to study Fine Arts, specializing in engraving and print making.
This discipline allowed me to enjoy the slow process and builded up a strong sense of patience and dedication due to the demands of the technique.
After being apart from art for several years, recently I rediscovered my career as an emerging artists and started experimenting as a watercolor illustrator and digital designer.
My art revolves around the wisdom and mistery of short stories and folk tales from around the world, trying to visually extract the fantastic tradition and myth that hides behind storytelling.
Work / Education
I started studying art in highschool at the Castella Conservatory (1996-1999).
Then I continued with visual arts at the University of Costa Rica, specialising in printmaking and graphic stamp design (2000-2003).
However, in that moment I started working in a totally different field and it wasn't until 2013 that I returned to the artistic path, becoming interested in handmade and digital illustration.
Since then I've been experiencing the use of other techniques such as watercolor, pastel and oil painting.
In 2016 I finished a technical degree in graphic and web design and so I've been also experimenting with digital media.
