Emotion X Culture
My creations are the embodiment of the deepest emotions that one can feel. Coming from a land whose history is young, local culture has a great impact in my art. Formed by hundreds of islands, the Philippines is a woven tapestry of different cultures and traditions. There are so many stories to tell, and I want to tell these humble stories in a contemporary fashion, mixing old-world beauty with modern art. Not just local but also foreign cultures are great inspirations. There is something thrilling when mixing different worlds together to create a powerful hybrid art. Marriage of Western and Oriental art; exploding with emotions and unspoken words; we can always move forward but remaining true to our roots.
