About me
In this world, our universe multiplying infinite meanings, is infinite.
Words like ‘essence’, inside fact and real intention, have been circling in my mind since I was young. It must be natural to think about what human essence is. The kinds of thoughts every individual in the world has are an interesting subject for research with our existence in being born as human beings. As I came to be sure that the answers are in the unconscious that does not go through judgements of ethical egoism and self-censorship, I have been fascinated by the study by Freud and the school of Surrealism he influenced. I wrote a Dream Diary that Freud suggested as a technique to understand the unconscious and attempted to analyze it for years.
This thirst to understand my psychology led me to major in psychology in graduate school. In school I learned about both the study by Freud and also the studies by various scholars, and studied many cases that attempted to grab human insides using the tool of language and overcoming one’s limits. I realized that my interest towards human beings who sometimes become endlessly weak or strong turn out to be emotions in my practice and sources of pain while ironically continuing as a bridge in making relationships, which are essential to human beings.
Dreams, the unconscious, Surrealism and psychology are the fields of research that put emphasis on symbols and the interior meanings. My practice, which also steps on the same path, has unrealistic objects that symbolize subjects, and they work to bring related meanings.
The basis of psychotherapy is sympathy. It may be my selfish desire but I am hoping for some or many people to receive sympathy for their stories through my work on canvas and to be consoled even if it is not on target..

About <Persona Series>
Persona is the psychological term referring to a self expressed when confronting others or society. It is a concept that does not scientifically belong to defense but is born to protect and camouflage the self in its primary aspect. It can work as a weapon or as armor.
What is hidden behind myself is an interior composed of elements that are not censored by superego and permitted by society. When we show this up front we can survive the potential loss of relationships, the so-called exclusion from society, and create a kind and selfless persona. An act that covers up irregular and mixed interior matters with a soft and smooth silk fabric is an act that brings loss of energy and emotional pains but these practices make us become who we are in society. However, a persona that is created not to be isolated and ‘the real me’ are ironically different from their starting point but as time passes their boundaries become ambiguous and they become difficult to be what is real within me. As ‘the real me’ becomes a persona, and a persona becomes ‘the real me’, we are confused at every moment.

The Persona Series represents the objects covered by silk fabric with achromatic color backgrounds of scenes after looking at individuals’ interiors through various psychology consultation cases.
The interviews that are exhibited together with a final work are the edited verbatim counseling records made public with the agreement of that individual.
