About me
A Manila-based self-taught artist living with her foster cat named Caesar.
I have no formal training in art. Like everybody else, I have been doing art ever since I was a kid. Voltes V, Funny Komiks, and Sailormoon are my eye openers to creativity. But it was Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that paved the way to unleash the remaining 'art parabolas' hidden within me.
Learned to paint on my own through visits to art galleries and museums, watching art documentaries, reading art magazines available on used bookstores, re-browsing my comic book and manga collection, and spent countless days perusing artworks online in Instagram and art related websites. I’ve explored oil, acrylic, gouache, ink, some doll assemblage, and currently enjoying to work on video art. I prefer to paint on scrap wood, broken and junked materials. Starting to get hooked with plastic mannequins too. All of the 'tabula rasas' I used and still using to paint on are donations or I found somewhere else.
I had my first exhibit (a group exhibition) through 'Filed! Golden Goal Planner Launch' last Nov. 5, 2016. Some of my artworks were part of SINGAPORE ART BOOK FAIR 2017 through 'Conversations of Us' last April 28-30. I had the opportunity to represent the women & LGBTQ community through an art exhibit at STAND TOGETHER: WOMAN, CREAT in A Space Philippines last 15th of July. And also for the upcoming first printed magazine of COSMIC ORGASM: issue 'HURT' in line with their launch of a design store named 'Co_design'. And this whole 'unleashing the remaining art parabola' journey of mine began just last summer of 2015 and still rocking it. Feel free to have a view of the wave of my art journey through my creations.
