About me
My name is Gurpreet Sra. I grew up in the Terai, on the outskirts of Dudhwa National Park and Nainital. All my experiences about life come from the jungle which I love and I am fascinated with.
In 2008, when I was 14-years-old and taking my final art exam, my teacher gave me an A+ because she ‘loved my thought process,’ she said. I was taken aback as the painting in front of her didn’t show as much technique as it did an idea. But that gentle validation gave me the confidence I needed to pursue art seriously. It was then when i met Van Gogh and G. F Watts at my school library and Seven years later, I continue to paint and take inspiration from the smallest of gifts that nature gives us.
Work / Education
The fist stages of my education began in a small town near Nepal border in Saint Anns. Later when I was in grade two I shifted to a boarding school, All Saints' College, in Nainital where I stayed for the next eleven years.
While the boarding school gave me art, my home, on the contrary, acting like the second line running parallel to school drove me closer to the wild.
After finishing school I came to Delhi to pursue my degree in Communication Design at Pearl Academy.
