IYA is an Ukraine based artist and architect, who create hand-made woven artworks. At the beginning of 2006 Iya became a member of the European Tapestry Forum (Denmark). She also joined the Ukrainian Artist’s Alliance and the Ukrainian Designer’s Alliance in 2007. Over the period of 2007-2013 the artist took a part in a great number of benefit auctions and expositions. The first collection of ‘woven paintings’ (2002-2005) was inspired by the nature and oriental philosophical systems of harmony realized with the exhibition at the National Artist’s House in 2005. Under the impression of the ‘orange revolution’ in Ukraine and national enthusiasm (over the period 2006-2009) IYA produced collection with the traditional motives. Her tapestries are the combination of world's weaving traditions and developed 'blended' technique. While, the LOOP COLLECTION is the artist's modern view on tapestry, where the images are sketch-like, but still extraordinary in respect of 'author's technique'.
The main idea of the loop technique is to feature the memory-like appearance of specific bright moments of human life (eg. getting the first bicycle).
