"Where I stand"
Description
-This artwork was made from 100% recyclable materials. The whole base was made from used silk screen that was covered with scrap paper, the materials used were palm and coconut husk from an old tree and was painted with left over gold, bronze, white and brown paint.
-Inspired from the on-going Presidential campaign in the Philippines, its about integrity and patriotism; its about not following the norm but about being truthful and honest about yourself for the good of the country.
#The bigger palms represent the seem-to-be "brighter future or path" that the presidential candidate's promise. It seems promising until you see the reality behind it. (It had no "base", no "concrete foundation" and has "multiple ideas that does not lead to a promising path" and everyone has their "own interest" in winning the election) Sadly, this is where the norm usually is and where everybody puts their attention to..
#From where I stand, (the small plant-like at the upper right side on a cleaner side) is where I believe that a potential president and a patriotic citizen should be like. He does not follow the " norm", he builds and finds his own identity, he builds a good foundation of "unity", "respect" ,"understanding, and he "does not think of himself nor have his own interest aside from the good of his own country , but carries the others with him", together, they make a community of mutual respect and trust from each other"..
It may seem dull at first, but the gold at their tip represents their bright future and success soon, together, with one hope: for the brighter future of the country... Clean and just; with honesty and integrity; slowly but surely-the good always win.. THIS IS WHERE I STAND, (faith, hope, and love together; only at one with the good for our country.)
