Seydou Keïta is unknown to many of us but considered as one of the most influential photographers from Africa. He was a carpenter in Mali and only began his journey as a photographer when his uncle gave him a Kodak brownie when he was 14 years old. Out of pure joy and self-satisfaction, he just took photos of his family and friends and Keïta’s works have been acclaimed as the significant documentary aesthetically revealing details of the Malian society.
