Peggy was born on the land, in a creek of her hometown Areyonga. Her extraordinary birth the fed into an extraordinary life where she has stood and represented her home as a strong woman and leader of the community. She worked in the school in the 1970's as a teacher before becoming part of the church choir. With the choir she traveled around the territory singing. They made their way all the way up to Darwin. In 2006 she started work in the literacy centre in the school to help pass down her language to the children in Areyonga. Although she now claims to be retired she still works hard in the school keeping her language and culture strong.
