Thinking is an internalized, perpetual process in human. Sometimes, thoughts can get too far, a condition recognized as overthinking. As the condition occurs repeatedly, overthinking can interfere daily activities. At the moment, writer often faces events of compulsively focused attention on negative thoughts. In the occurrence of this state, imagination leads writer into perceiving matters that do not happen or exist in reality. This condition is caused by fear and anxiety that writer easily experiences. This psychological disorder does not happen only by the writer, but commonly occurs on young adults nowadays as well.
In response of this psychological problem, writer expresses and alters his overwhelming anxiety into artworks in the form of drawing, as a final project assignment. The drawings portray layered face figures, surrounded by intertwined, withered plants. This artwork used pencil and coloured pencil on Canson and tracing paper. Drawings are presented in layers on a base of LED lighting to create multiple exposure effect. Writer hopes that this artwork can be a reflection on the psychological problem which many young adults on his age often experience.
