I paint my art work with theme of ????(????,Gu Saeng A Jip) which means there is substantial ego that is unchangeable. In the other words, my art work tells about obsession of my innate ego; the obstinacy. When we hear obstinacy, it gives us negative feelings and it contains negative meanings but ironically I love my obstinacy. My obstinacy is the belief that there is immortal and indestructible ego which preside the objects in our body and soul. I tell this story through my painting by creating new world which I created through the obstinacy. This world is fresh and it is not ordinary nor smooth at all. In my work art, Self-attachments and personal stories, depression, Aggressiveness, selfish, honesty are connoted.

In modern days, I don’t try to hide my obstinacy. Due to this mind set my subjects of art work are striking existence in anywhere. As this world is filling with selfish of aggressive people who tries(try) to lower my self-esteem, I am more obsessed with my ego to survive in this world which is in dilemmas of depression. I am intoxicated with depression in order to be who I am, therefore I speak and act as I think and feel through my art work .


My motto is to create art works with message which is “Don’t make a mistake with locking yourself up by following trends and fake lip-service in this splendid world, disgorge your obstinacy like child without any bias.”

The kid who appears in my art work is the ego and she is pure. It shows the evil and good as it is. The pointy tooth shows the aggressiveness. Faces with ornate colors express the feelings and inconsistent emotions, and patterned bubbles with five cardinal colors express flashy society and obsession of ego. The lotus speak for essence and it also shows superego and talent that is hidden. Grotesque whale satirize dark parts of the society.
