Description
Sigmund Freud is the father of psychoanalysis, from which the surrealist movement originated. In Freud’s study, he gives that the dream can only be fulfilled if there is hope. The primary reason why some parts of our dreams are forgotten in the unconscious is to put uncomfortable thoughts into oblivion. These sore dreams include painful experiences of the individual and other basic human needs or desires. I am inspired by the surreal aspect that the dream world provides.
As I look in to my painting I am dreaming, as if looking into my true inner self. The artwork in itself does not have an ending or conclusion, and this reflects my own hopes and wishes. In order for you to find your true inner self you need to dream and find your unconscious thoughts. I truly hope what I’ve portrayed is not only seen as the artist on canvas, but also that viewers find their dream and true inner self hidden within the unconscious.
