Says he burned himself

Says he burned himself

Description

My painting hovers somewhere around the dream and existence. From the fundamental illusions of life, fortuity, luck or fatality that life can bring, especially about human relations. This is directly related to the idea of a post-life. If it is a human creation to lessen the pain of existence itself and lack of purpose that exists in it. I feel that re-inspiration is more present in my work than any organizational system. At the same time the image is being built, it must be destroyed. This way of creating is directly linked to the conflicts that my theme generates within myself, to accept the nihilistic banality of existence or to remain deluded ignoring the lack of support for this universe of dreams.

The paintings portray figures, perhaps disturbing, in motion, being constantly interrupted. There is no resting point for the look, there is no focal point. The images have a strong sense of randomness. They have no rea-
son, they are irregular, unpredictable, meaningless, where the law of cause and effect is worth nothing, due to the uncertainty of created situations. Several layers and multiple colors emphasize movement and chaos within the image, violence and undetermined truth behind the painting.

I want to make a picture of modernity, I am interested in the materiality of the human body and its fragile image. In my paintings, the distortion of the figure also alters the representation of the body; So I use paint to deform the
subject’s identity, which makes them generic. Which is basically the crude representation of the modern human being: his image linked to the image of any other. While painting, I feel the need to cleanse the individual’s essence from the surface of the canvas, denying what makes them unique, their humanity.
