Have you ever felt like being left behind for nothing? This isn't meant to be sad or something. The inspiration behind this comes from a pair of hanged shoes from an electrical wire at our neighborhood while I was on my way to home. When I saw this, I stopped for a second. I had a though about "Remember when it was made from a factory, shipped to a grandiose mall, bought by a lucky customer, worn at different times at different places and then suddenly it's worn out, replaced, thrown away and eventually ends up in a place like that." Before I made an illustration based on that inspiration, I looked up the internet about what it means. Apparently, it means that there are gangs around the neighborhood. Despite the actual meaning of such sight in an area, I wanted to emphasize on the value the shoes once had. Instead of portraying it sad and lonely, I made it warm and melancholic. It just set the perfect mood that way. It doesn't seem lonely at all but you feel a bit of sympathy for a material thing. I don't want you to be materialistic, but to treasure your items that once had sentimental value maybe. Plus it's bad for the environment to just throw things out improperly.
