A Portrait of A (extinct) Family : Orang Utan
Description
It was inspired from a tragedy in my country many years ago. I live in Indonesia. A long time ago, Indonesia, have a lot of forests. Almost every island is covered with trees. But, just because of the human ego, many people try to "open" the forest for industrial area. They burnt it. Thousand of hectares of forest burned. They don't care about the impact. They don't care if the forest is a home too for many animals. They don't care if they aren't only kill an animals, but they kill a lot of family, a generation. They don't care if they are endangered. And they don't care if someday they could disappear. They only care about their own life, their ego and their money.
So in this artwork I try to paint this tragedy. I use coffee for media, because coffee is one of product from nature which very popular and almost everybody drink coffee every morning, so I hope many people remember this story before they "start" their life.
*this is part 2, part 1 is the "Elephant". You can combine these artworks in to one artwork.
