This is a simple yet wonderful scenic painting reflecting a photo I had taken up the Rattlesnake outside of Missoula, Montana. Some people are cloud people. Some people are sunrise/sunset people. I, myself am a waterfall person. I began this work just as my health issues were beginning to take me over. My frustration and anger over the little imperfections that comes with the territory of a paintbrush were brimming by the time this work was completed. Anxiety and depression were whispering in one ear and my strivings to be perfect were whispering in the other. I finally had to walk away from the canvas believing it would never be perfect. Now, looking back it is beautiful and delicate, and the few stitchings I added with embroidery floss give it a depth that most calming pieces lack.
