Description
A very ambiguous project. This canvas began as something entirely different, survived being washed of it's paint twice, and finally, the chaos began to take shape. The pages used as the background were taken from The Iliad and The Odyssey. The first layer of wings was oil pastels. Then, after months of nothing happening to it, the second two layers of wings were added. Using plastic paints and a stencil, the wings were first dried on wax paper, then transferred onto the canvas in one of my more exasperating experiments. The results were beautiful, but I highly doubt I will ever use that technique again. Final step was to add some sparkle through paint and small swarovski crystals. And the bow at the top left was tied to gether with purple embroidery floss. And suddenly it looks like something worthy of angelic flight.
