Until now, in Indonesia the Islamic identity is often labelled as the identity of Middle Eastern culture. Though the Middle East culture itself were existed before the time of prophet Muhammad's prophecy. It can be identified that the particular culture can get in to a religion, to become a part of religion itself, and underestimated other culture. In this work, I tried to show the problem as a puzzle of Islamic identity that often makes a certain cultures as a parameter, rather than on substantial things (the doctrine or rules). A Javanese man as a symbol of Indonesian culture is dealing with Middle Eastern man as a symbol of his culture. The dramatic state of the Middle Eastern man that appears in the mirror is a metaphor for Islamic existence which stands closer as an identity in social life rather than the Javanese man in front of him.
