I usually design my pictorial space with a forethought of the printing process to follow. This work I planned as a painting without any subsequent prints in mind. However, in the course of painting it, I felt inspired to add some naturalistic structures on top. Thus the work now features a tension between obscured naturalistic space in its background and a feel of the mechanistic that characterizes screen printing.
