[Note of Author]As modern soceity develops, a memorable place for some gets demolished for redevelopment and newly built place becomes someone's new place of memory. Walking in the city where redevelopment is in progress, I can feel past and present of the city at once and even imagine the how the city will be changed in the future. The city is constantly being redeveloped to improve the residential environment in which worn out and poor buildings are concentrated and such process is operated to revive the function of safe and hygienic city in a functionless and degraded city with the flow of time and place. I feel like a constantly changing and evolving life when looking at the city constantly changing itself. Hence, to express the city that is in the process of constant change, I am capturing the yesterday, today and tomorrow of this constantly changing city by contrasting old buildings and apartment buildings.This will serve as an opportunity for modern people to think twice about their lives in the city.

현대사회가 발전하면서 과거엔 누군가의 추억이었던 장소가 허물어져 재개발이 되고, 그 자리엔 새로운 장소가 만들어져 누군가에겐 또 다시 새로운 추억이 되기도 한다. 나는 재개발이 진행되고 있는 도시 속을 거닐면 도시의 과거와 현재가 함께 느껴지며 더불어 앞으로 변화될 도시의 모습까지 상상되곤 한다. 도시는 열악한 시설과 노후·불량건축물이 밀집된 주거환경을 개선하기 위하여 끊임없이 재개발되고 있으며, 도시 재개발은 기존에 개발된 지역이 시간적, 공간적 변화에 따라 그 기능을 상실하고 불량화 되었을 때 도시의 낙후된 지역을 개선하여 안전하고 위생적인 환경 속에 도시의 기능을 부활하고자 실시된다.나는 끊임없이 변화해 나가는 도시의 모습을 보면 계속해서 변화하고 진화해 나가는 생명과도 같다고 느낀다. 그래서 나는 끊임없이 변화하는 과정 속에 있는 도시를 표현하기 위해 도시 속의 낡고 오래된 건물, 재개발이 진행 중인 공사현장의 이미지와 현대 공학의 표상으로 대표되는 아파트, 빌딩, 신주거지의 이미지를 대비시켜 끊임없이 변화의 과정 속에 있는 도시의 어제, 오늘, 내일의 모습을 화면 속에 담아내고 있다.그것은 현대인들에게 도시 속에서 살아가는 삶에 대해 다시 한 번 더 생각할 수 있도록 하는 계기가 될 수 있을 것이다.
