The reference picture I used for this guy is a meme that's been going around for quite a while. Some of them are funny, some are fearful environmental statements about how it is that crabs could come across cigarettes.

I like the humanity in him. I gave him a little gangster backstory in this piece. Some whiskey, a game to play. I think he's more of a person than some people I've met.

I like matching the animal kingdom with human vice. I feel that it's more thought-provoking than a straight human alternative. Animals look out of place, so one is forced to consider the anthropomorphy.
