Take (竹) Time


This piece shows a young Japanese girl strolling through a bamboo forest in Kyoto in her beautiful summer kimono. This piece reflect the serenity and beauty found in many places here in Japan. The Japanese people have a great appreciation for nature and many temples and shrines have beautiful gardens that invokes an immidiate sense of peace and tranquility.

The title for this piece is inspired by the Japanese spelling of the word "take" (竹- pronouced ta ke) which means Bamboo.

This mixed media painting on wood is created using a combination of image transfer and acrylic paints and mediums together with textured papers. The artwork comes with a wire on the back for hanging, it is signed on the front and has title, date, artist name and a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back.
