In this painting I tried to show that the dark can be tranquil and calming. It is not necessarily a bad thing and that's how I see life. It is a mixture between dark and light. I wanted to convey an atmosphere while at the same time not overdoing it and using methods such as glazing and scumbling. It is a study of proving that with minimal materials interesting and deep paintings effects can be achieved.
