Arimatsu is located on the Tokai-do Highway linking Edo (now Tokyo) and Kyoto, it is famous for it's Shibori tie dyeing industry, which began in 1608. It is not very far from the more modern city center of Nagoya but walking the streets in this neighbourhood will make you feel like you've been transported into the past. Original Japanese buildings line the streets, you will little stores that look like they have been there for hundreds of years and if you7re lucky you might catch a glimpse of traditional tie dyers at work. Japan might be known as the futuristic country of robots and electric billboards but if you venture outside of the big cities you will discover it7s timeless nature everywhere.

This mixed media painting on wood is created using a combination of image transfer and acrylic paints and mediums. The artwork comes with a wire on the back for hanging, it is signed on the front and has title, date, artist name and a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back.
