SUN BLUE BROKEN
Description
I get this out of my head and onto the canvas thanks to a piece of my blue depression glass collection being knocked over and scattered to pieces. Well it was such a beautiful day out when it happened. I decided to make a blue supernova exploding on a winter day out. Are used oil for the red and some of the blue and white I used Depression glass for the blue glass pieces that have been polyurethaned and lacquered over and with a final coat of Two-part Apoxy. The yellow in the background of the supernova comes from several layers of turmeric. Also, I melted soldering wire in several areas in the background of this painting to give a nice shimmer. Yes, I often find myself using whatever I can to make a color so beautiful stick on canvases.
