Invisible characters and shadows of their beloved ones.
Description
Invisible characters and shadows of their beloved ones.
*This painting adresses the relationship of women from upper Egypt with their social surroundings in terms of culture, inherited thoughts which generally puts them in a stereotyped form and make them run in close circles totally away from the reality of the modern world we live in. They stay still, silent and accepting. Always sacrificing their lives, their freedom, their right to choose and what they want to be. Existing on their on terms is just a dream.
We may notice all of them as one because of the perception of everyone around them that places them in that position just a clone from their ancestors as if they were born in an already rotting corpse.
Despite all of that, we find them always smiling with condidence on their faces while they take their unique sitting pose and chat with the shadows of their beloved ones.
