Sakura (桜)

Geisha (芸者) are Japanese women who entertain through performing the ancient traditions of art, dance and singing, and are distinctively characterized by traditional costumes and makeup. Contrary to popular belief, geisha are not the Eastern equivalent of a prostitute, the word geisha consists of two kanji, 芸 (Gei) meaning "art" and 者 (Sha) meaning "person" or "doer". The most literal translation of geisha into English would be "artist", "performing artist", or "artisan". You can fins geishas all around Japan but you’ll have the best chance of running into one in Kyoto, where I spotted this gorgeous lady surrounded by a huge group of businessmen. Hiring a geisha is considered to be very prestigious and is often done to impress big clients.
