특별할 것 없는 일상을 사는 평범한 사람인 나는 유명인사의 모습을 그림으로써 모든 것을 뒤엎는 일탈을 꿈꾼다.
사람들 속에서 스포트라이트를 받고 있는 내 모습을 상상하며 물감을 뿌리고, 튀기고 긁어내다보면 캔버스 위에 흩뿌려진 형형색색의 파편들이 한데 어우러지며 유명인의 얼굴로 드러난다. 이는 유명인의 모습을 대변하듯 화려하고 자극적이다. 유명인의 모습을 그렸지만, 그림 속 화려한 모습의 유명인처럼 주목받는 삶을 살고 싶은 나를 유명인에 투영하여 그린 그림이기에 내 그림은 유명인의 초상화라기보다 일탈 속 내 모습을 그린 자화상이라고 할 수 있다.
이렇듯 그림을 그리는 행위는 내가 꿈꾸는, 그렇지만 이룰 수 없는 특별해지고픈 자아를 실현하는 수단이자 대리만족이다.
평범한 사람으로서는 느낄 수 없는 일탈을 위해, 오늘도 나는 그림을 그린다.
As an ordinary person who lives a daily life with nothing special, I dream of a deviation that turns everything upside down by painting a celebrity.
As I imagine myself in the spotlight in the crowd, I spray paint, fry, and scratch, and the colorful fragments scattered on the canvas blend together and emerge as a celebrity's face. This is as colorful and provocative as it represents the appearance. My painting is not a portrait of a celebrity but rather a self-portrait of a self-portrait because it depicts me who wants to live a life of attention like a celebrity with a colorful appearance in the painting.
The act of drawing like this is a means and vicarious satisfaction of realizing the ego that I dream of, but cannot achieve, that I want to become special.
